Hi Everyone:
For the month of August we have lots of fun things going on in District 9, here is the list:
**NO JAM IN AUGUST** The next jam will be on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5th from 11:00am-1:00pm at the LEWIS COUNTY HISTORICAL MUSEUM, located at 599 NW Front Way in downtown Chehalis. There is lots of parking on both sides of the museum and we will be jamming just inside the main doors.
WE HAVE THREE PLAYDATES IN THE MONTH OF AUGUST:
1. Wednesday, August 13th from 4:00pm-5:00pm at Colonial Stillwater Estates, located at 2700 Colonial Drive in Centralia, just off Cooks Hill Rd and about 3/4 mile past Providence Centralia Hospital. We will be playing in the Residence Building which is the big white building with pillars. The music parlor is just inside the main entrance and to the left. We will be using the August playlist for all playdates this month.
2. Southwest Washington Fair Playdate: Happens the very next day on Thursday, August 14th from 11:00-12:00 at the Community Stage which is right in the middle of the Fairgrounds. Please be on stage a few minutes early so we can begin promptly at 11:00. We will usually be playing for about 45 minutes to allow them to get ready for the Diaper Derby. If you would like to play at the Fair please let me know how many parking and admission tickets you will need. I will have them at the Colonial Playdate for everybody.
3. SHARON CARE CENTER PLAYDATE is on Wednesday, August 27th from 3:30-4:30. Sharon Care is located at 1509 Harrison Ave. To find Sharon Care take I-5 to exit 82 (Harrison Ave) and go WEST off the exit, past the Safeway, then turn LEFT on Fords Prairie Ave. Sharon Care will be on your right. Go to the very back of the building where the main entrance is located. We will be playing in the Skilled Dining Room which is just a short distance inside the entrance.
And don’t forget about CENTRALIA CAMPOUT, happening August 9-17th at 1210 K Street in Centralia, off I-5 exit 82. This is not a WOTFA event but is a very fun and low key gathering with jamming, dances, dry camping and potlucks. No set schedule, everything is on a pop-up basis. The Chehalis River is at the edge of the campground so if the weather is hot you can swim also.
