It’s November already and Christmas is fast approaching.  Get those Christmas songs out to brush up on and be ready for playdates in December and at the Christmas party on Dec. 6th.

Speaking of the Christmas party, it is held the first Saturday of December every year at the Mason’s hall in DesMoines, Wa.  We get together to jam, eat, and enjoy each other’s company.  During the jam, we play a lot of Christmas songs, but any song you pick will be accepted and enjoyed.  There are people of every musical ability and age.  Some people come just to sing or to listen to the music.  All are welcome.  The District provides a ham for the potluck and you are welcome to bring food to share, although that is not required.  Doors open at 11 am and we eat as soon as most people have arrived. (usually around noon)  Otherwise, we spend our time until 4 pm doing lots of jamming.

Our second event of the month was a jam on October 25th.  This was also a smallish group.  We welcomed newcomers, Clint and his wife, Connie.  We also welcomed Shannon and Joanne whom we hadn’t seen for a while.  People brought some yummy snacks and we played until we had to clean up.  Such fun.  It was a very enjoyable jam all in all.  Pictures below:

There is still time to pay your dues for 2026.  All you have to do is click on the home page of WOTFA.org where it says pay your dues and pay them online.  Also, there will be printed forms at each jam for you to fill out and write a check so Bernie can mail them to the member chair.  We want to make it easy to join or renew because our organization depends heavily upon the dues to exist.  Won’t you please become a member or renew soon for 2026?

I just learned that Michael Harris, a long time member and favorite of District 6, will be traveling to Minnesota for knee surgery in mid November.  This surgery will require a lengthy recovery period and we hope it all goes well.  He will be gone from our jams for a couple of months while he does physical therapy.   In the meantime, all our prayers and good wishes are with you, Michael and we look forward to your return.

On one last note, the list below shares the dates and times of our District 6 events which always include jams.  Any specific information can be found on the website or you can contact me with any questions.  All are welcome.  Come when you can.  In the meantime, please put the Christmas party on your schedule for December.
