Well, winter happened with a vengence in January this year. Many different kinds of weather including rainy dark days and really cold (for this part of the country) sunny days. We have to be thankful for all the weather because what else ya gonna do? But, I’m glad our activity is usually indoors!
We had a very enjoyable meeting and jam on the 3rd of January. It seemed lots of people wanted to play together in the new year. We had over 20 people show up who brought lots of treats to share at lunch. Our meeting was longer than usual as we had quite a few things to decide. We’re hoping to get another jam going in the north part of King County so Tyler is going to hold a few jams up there and see how it goes. Traffic is such that it’s not easy to travel on the roads to come to the Mason’s Hall from up north. Stay tuned for information on these jams the first of which is Sunday, Feb. 1st. Here are a few pictures from Sat, January 3rd:

Our circle jam on January 24th also had a good turnout. A good group of people showed up and played a variety of songs. We picked, sang and fiddled the time away. Michael Harris made it to the jam after his successful knee surgery and a couple of months of hard work getting his knee back in shape. Welcome back Michael! Also, we were glad to have welcomed Athena to our circle who is a beginner, but enthusiastic fiddle player taught by longtime member Bella. It’s great to see young people learning and then teaching others to play. Keep up the good work, Athena and Bella! (Bella and Athena are featured in the first picture above for the event on Jan. 3rd and the last picture below. Michael is featured in the 4th picture below.) Here are some pictures from the jam:
