March playout at Canterbury
Hello Musicians and Friends~
District 5 has been busy in March playing Ir- ish tunes-Irish Washer Woman, Hundred Pipers, Rambles of Spring, Black Velvet Band, St, Patrick’s Day in the Morning and many others. Our attendees like singing along, so Kay sings I’m Looking Over a Four Leaf Clover and we have a really good time. Bart is playing a banjo tune he composed called Carrie’s Jig which we’ve enjoyed learning and playing. Keep it up Bart!
We will soon change over to a Spring list and have already booked a few Farmer’s Market gigs. Always look forward to getting together and playing tunes as well as the promise of warmer weather.

JAMMING EVERY TUESDAY 1-4pm! For 2026, Every Tuesday we are meeting at Silverdale Mall in the community room next to Dick’s Sporting Goods. We are very pleased at the number of new people joining us to play and stopping by to hear us at the mall.
We will resume the First and Third Tuesdays at the Mall when the weather warms up and we return to the Belfair Barn on the Hood Canal for 2nd, 4th and any 5th Tuesdays in May, June, July, August and September. Stop by, bring a friend. It’s a good time! We have dulcimers, ukuleles and the usual fiddles, mandolins, guitars, banjos and basses. Claire comes with Hank and treats us to her bowed psaltry…a lovely sound.

For our April business meeting we will meet at the Kitsap Square Dance Hall Saturday, April 18th from 11-3. Come join us! We are hoping some youth will show up to request a scholarship for Fiddle Camp at this meeting. Update your membership and if you know of any students in our district interested in Fiddle Camp, start encouraging them Now! We have scholarships for these kiddos for this summer!
Hope to see you around at some of the music events and campouts, especially looking forward to seeing everyone in Cashmere in July.
