With the new year looming in front of us, the Washington Old Time Fiddlers Association is gearing up for some really exciting things to come your way.
First of all the new wotfa.org website is up and running, with lots of cool features available to our members. New features are in the planning stages for 2020 and beyond, so check the website often for updates.
The new membership system is up and running, thanks to Noel Lareau for helping to make this happen. All current members will be receiving an email in October to remind them to renew their dues. There will be a link to the new membership renewal page where members can update their contact information and submit their dues for the coming year. Remember you don’t need a PayPal account to pay your dues online. Use your debit or credit card to submit your dues to WOTFA, or choose to send a check to the membership chairman. The new site is more stable and a lot easier to use than the old one. Watch your email for new information.
A lot of folks have been asking for the choice to have the Evergreen Fiddler delivered to their email instead of receiving it through regular mail. With the September issue of the Evergreen Fiddler, this is now going to happen. The first issue of the eEvergreen Fiddler will be sent out to all members with a current email address. If you did not receive the email there are two things to check:
- Make sure that your email on record with WOTFA is up to date and correct. You can check this by logging into the website, and clicking the My Account option on the menu.
- Check your Spam folder. Sometimes email gets sent to the spam folder if your email server does not recognize the sender.
- If you are having issues please contact me and I will see what the issue may be. These things can usually be corrected in a matter of minutes.
The workshop was another great success! Thanks to Corrine and Tyler and their crew of volunteers that made 2019 a memorable year. Plans are already in the works for next years fiddle camp and workshop.
There has been a lot of activity around the state including contests, campouts and shows. I want to thank all of the volunteers that have spent countless hours planning and prepping for these events.
