I like to play old time music and have been playing for 50 years. I used to go to play with WOTFA district 7 in Yakima and met some good players. I was very busy at the time and quit going down after Stan Jackson died. Now I am retired and Yakima no longer has an affiliation with WOTFA (district 7). So I am wondering if there is any interest in old time music in the area. I live near Cle Elum. Possibly one of the Grange Halls around here. I don’t mind driving but Tri-Cities is a little far.

There is an old time jam open to anyone that meets in Ellensburg the 3rd or 4th Sunday of every month (depends how many Sundays are in a month, but it is usually the 3rd). We have been meeting at 3 pm in the Briarwood Common room. There is also currently an old time jam in Yakima on 2nd and 4th Thursdays 6 to 9 pm at the Fruitvale Grange.
Hey Tom, I would highly encourage you to start a jam in your neck of the woods! Often times the public libraries have space you can use for free, or in these nice months, you can meet outside somewhere. If you want to host a jam and want WOTFA to let people know about where and when it’s happening, we’re more than happy to help!
