Hi Everyone:

For the month of March there is lots of music going on in our area. Here’s the list so far:

FRIDAY, MARCH 6, 2026: 11:00am-1:00pm Acoustic Music Jam at the Lewis County Historical Museum, located at 599 NW Front Way in downtown Chehalis. There is parking on both sides of the museum, and we will be jamming just inside the main doors, so it’s best to park on the North side of the museum if you can. There will be coffee and tea and some snacks but it won’t be a potluck. The museum doesn’t charge us to use the facility but they do ask that if everyone could leave a few dollars in their donation jar at the front desk they would be grateful.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 11, 2026 4:00pm-5:00pm Colonial Stillwater Estates Playdate. Colonial is located at 2700 Colonial Drive in Centralia, just off Cooks Hill Rd and about 3/4 mile past Providence Centralia Hospital. We will be playing in the Residence Building which is the big white building with pillars in the front. The music parlor is just inside the main doors and to the left. We will be using the March playlist which is below. If you have a tune you would like to play for these playdates please let me know and we will add it to the playlist.

MONDAY, MARCH 16, 2026: 7:00-ishpm. Pacific NW Chamber Orchestra Concert Intermission playdate. Corbet Theater at Centralia College in Centralia. We will be playing during the PNWCO Winter Concert Intermission. They would like us to do three tunes, possibly four at most while the orchestra takes a break mid-way through their program. The concert is free and begins at 6:00pm. The intermission usually happens between 7:00pm-7:30pm, depending on what they are playing. We will assemble in the backstage room and we can leave our gear there, they have an attendant watching the room during the concert. Here is what we’ll be playing:

4. I’ll Fly Away-G (If time permits)

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 25, 2026 @ 3:30pm-4:30pm. Sharon Care Center Playdate, 1509 Harrison Ave in Centralia. Take I-5 to the Harrison Ave exit, the head West about a mile or so. Take a left on Fords Prairie Ave, just after the Dollar General Store and Sharon Care will be on your right. Go all the way to the back of the facility where the main entrance and parking lot is. We will be playing in the Skilled Dining Room which is just a short distance inside the main doors.

OTHER FUN STUFF GOING ON IN MARCH:

Saturday, March 14th 1:00pm-4:00pm. WAMA slow jam at the Hope Grange on Antrim Rd in Winlock. Fun and laid back acoustic jam that includes a potluck and open mic. More information on their website @ wamamusic.com
***If you are planning on playing for the contradance band at WAMA Pickersfest this year, the first rehearsal will be at Noon before the March slow jam at the Hope Grange***

FIDDLECAMP REGISTRATION will be the first Monday in April on the WOTFA Website, wotfa.org. The lineup looks really good for this year and it should be a week of fun and learning in Cashmere, WA. If you are a WOTFA member and live in Lewis or Thurston Counties and are under 18 years old you can receive a tuition scholarship for FiddleCamp. Please contact me if you need a scholarship or have questions about FiddleCamp. All the money from our playdates during the year goes towards youth FiddleCamp Scholarships, so we encourage all our youth to attend if possible.
