Hi Everyone: Happy Summer 2024! For the month of August we have lots of fun things going on in District 9:
Our regular monthly playdate will be on WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 7TH FROM 4:00PM-5:00PM AT Colonial Stillwater Estates, located at 2700 Colonial Drive in Centralia, just off Cooks Hill Rd. We will be playing in the residence building in the music parlor which is just inside the main doors and to the left. The August playlist will be listed below
Our only other playdate in August is at the SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON FAIR ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 15TH FROM 11:00AM-12:00PM on the Community Stage, which is right in the middle of the Fairgrounds. If you are planning on playing with us at the fair please let me know so I can get you a gate pass. We’ll be using the same playlist that will be used at Colonial Stillwater playdate. Please be ready to go at 10:45 for the sound check.
And don’t forget about the Mt St Helens Bluegrass Festival taking place the weekend of August 9th at the High Scholl in Toledo. It’s put on by the Washington Bluegrass Association and is very fun. Lots of jamming, open mic, workshops and shows and a band scramble. www.washingtonbluegrass.com
Also, the Centralia Campout will be happening from August 10-18 just East of I-5 in Centralia, along the Chehalis River. Very laid back and tons of jamming as well as pop-up events like potlucks and dances. www.centraliacampout.com
FOR THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER: Our regular 1st Friday open acoustic jam will be starting up on Friday, September 6th at 10am-Noon at Faith Baptist Church, located at 436 Coal Creek Rd in Chehalis, just off I-5 exit 79
AND!! Our September Colonial Stillwater Estates playdate will be on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 7th at 1:00pm so we can play for the Annual BBQ at Colonial. We’ll be playing outside under the archway at the entrance to the Residence building.
