For the month of April we will be having our regular 1st Friday open acoustic jam on Friday, April 5th from 10am-Noon at Faith Baptist Church in Chehalis. The address for the church is 436 Coal Creek Rd, just off I-5 exit 79. There will be coffee and tea and some snacks but it won’t be a potluck. I’ll have music for most of the new tunes on this months playlist for anyone who needs them. Specifically I’ll be bringing music for Rakes of Kildare in G, Just a Closer Walk in C, Battle of Cedar Creek in D, My Cape Breton Home in G, Black Velvet Waltz in D and When We All Get To Heaven in C. If you need music for any of the other tunes on the April playlist just let me know.
Also, registration for FiddleCamp will be on May 6th this year, and tuition will be $125 for youth and $225 for adult classes. We have tuition scholarships available for any District 9 members under age 18 who would like one.
The location will be the Chelan County Expo Center in Cashmere and you will be able to sign up for campspots when you register for FiddleCamp. Don’t forget that the dates have changed as well, it’s July 28-August 2nd this year.
We have two playdates for the month of April, and will probably add a third when the Woodland Village playdate gets rescheduled, but I’ll let everyone know as soon as I can confirm that. So far we have the following:
Colonial Stillwater Residence: Wednesday, April 10th from 4:00pm-5:00pm. Colonial is located at 2700 Colonial Drive in Centralia, just off Cooks Hill Rd and about 3/4 mile past Providence Centralia Hospital. We’ll be playing in the music parlor of the Residence building, which is the big white building with pillars in the front, just inside the main entrance and to the left.

Also we’re playing just two days later at the LOVE, INC charity fundraiser on Friday, April 12 from 6:30pm-7:30pm at the Cooks Hill Community Church, very close to Colonial Stillwater Estates. It’s at the corner of Cooks Hill Rd and Scammel Rd. They’ve asked us to play during the dinner interval, probably about 20 minutes of so, not a whole hour.
