Welcome to Feb. 2023!  Seemed like the holidays and the first month of the year went flying by.

Our Christmas party in Dec. was a great success!  We had good attendance with people of all ages and abilities.  A few people we didn’t expect came and it was great to see them after a long time away.  The food was good and we sang and played many christmas carols as well as other old time music.  It’s so nice to get together and enjoy each other’s company.  I’ve included a few pictures that show the festivities.

In Jan.,we had our first scheduled meeting and jam on the 7th which was also well attended and enjoyed by all.  It was very neat to be again surprised by people coming to this jam who haven’t been very regular.  (It’s okay to not be a regular, we love it whenever you can make it.)  Seeing and playing music with everyone was really great!  Every person brings something different to the jam and we have to keep on our toes to play together well.  During the meeting, Jack Hadfield stepped down as secretary and Ena Birklind stepped up.  We thank Jack for his helpful service in this capacity and anticipate Ena doing a great job in the future.  We appreciate both of them as they have been involved over so many years.  The following pictures are from Jan. 7th.

In other news, we send our condolences to Ena for the loss of her older daughter.  We missed her at the Christmas party because she was at the funeral.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Ena and the rest of the family.

Also, we are saddened by the death of Vivian Williams on Jan. 6th.  What a wonderful, giving woman she was and such an asset to our organization and district.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and close friends.  I suggest that in memory of Vivian, we all practice more and help the new people as we can.

Remember, all are welcome at our meetings and jams.  Come anytime you can.  The WOTFA.org website has all the information.

Till March,
