The year just keeps rolling along in District 6.  Looking back, we’ve enjoyed many jams and playdates together and enjoyed learning new songs and getting better at playing music together.  All the people in the district contribute to the unique flavor of our group.  It’s so good to have music to bind us together and to have something to do in the middle of our sometimes very wet and dark winters.  It puts a smile on my face.  I hope it does yours as well.

Our November meeting/jam was a hit.  We had a good group of people.  As usual, people came for the whole time or just for the amount of time they could.  We had a nice meeting and an enjoyable lunch where we had a chance to socialize.  It seemed as though people got to pick a few songs each and there was quite a variety.  A couple of people even brought Christmas songs to share so they could practice for December playdates.  These are pictures from November 1st:

The Christmas party was a success as well.  We had a good group of musicians and a couple of wives who joined in the festivities singing along with us and enjoying the music.  We did lots of Christmas songs as well as old time music.  We missed Tyler who had to be out of town for work and Kathy who was sick.  Bernie stepped up in Tyler’s stead to get the ham and help Earl with the setup and make the party happen.  He also held a short meeting.  We are very grateful for all the work these 2 guys did.  Also, for Roy in helping with various different tasks.  It took 3 people to do the work that Kathy usually does.  Get well soon, Kathy.  We need you!  As usual, we had great food, so our thanks to all the people who attended and brought side dishes and desserts.  Thanks to all who stayed to clean up afterwards.  It certainly seemed that  everyone had a good time.  Here are a few pictures:

On another note, Michael Harris had a recent knee replacement and couldn’t be at the Christmas party.  He did send a note about his progress which says:  “Please let everyone know that I’m happy to finally have a working knee and that recovery is on schedule.  I miss you all and expect to be back at jams throwing you musical curve balls again within a month or two.  Wishing you all happy holidays.”

Remember to pay your dues for 2026.  Contact me with any questions about paying them by mail or look it up on the website and try to pay online.  It might work, but we’ve been having some problems.  You can also bring money to Bernie at one of the jams and he will have you fill out a form and will send it in for you.
