District 5 met in person on April 17th at the Kitsap Square Dance Club in Gorst. We will meet there again on May 15th. At the April meeting, it was decided to move our meeting time up one hour to 10:00. So the tune learning will begin at 10, (taught this month by Laura Farr) followed by a brief meeting and jamming until 1:30. No food is being offered, so if you need to eat before it’s over, you are welcome to bring your own. We will meet for jamming only on June 14th and August 17th from 10:30 – 1:30 at the same location. We will be playing two shows at the Sand and Sawdust Festival in Ocean Shores the weekend of June 25th – 27th. Kay McCarthy has planned barn jams at the Salmon Center in Belfair on the 1st and 3rd Mondays in June, July, August, and September from 1-3. By this time, you’ve most likely been made aware that fiddle camp will not happen again this year due to our lack of registrations. Let’s hope we can get back on board for next year!
