It is with great sadness that I have to report the loss of a long time District 5 member.  Gus Lester passed away the morning of November 5th from complications of a long illness.  He participated in all of our district playouts for many years.  He played flatpick guitar and spent many hours practicing at home.  Will and I were privileged to play along with him at his home many times, and also attended many of the outdoor music parties he and Shirley had during the summer months.  He worked hard on his yard, making it picture perfect for every event and loved to show off the fruits of his labors.  He was a very special person, and those of us who knew him hold him in high esteem and miss him very much.  RIP Gus…you are dearly loved.

On another note: we have three jams scheduled in December: December 2nd from 6-9 pm at the Salmon Center classroom in Belfair, December 9th from 1-4 pm, and December 18th from 11-2 pm at the Square Dance Hall.  It was decided at our last meeting to have a holiday jam on the 18th, but no potluck.

Playdates scheduled for December are: December 17th at Liberty Shores and December 28th at Bay Point (contact Kay McCarthy at 360 895-0628 for details), and December 24th at Liberty Shores (contact Sharon Habener at 360 271-4182 for details).  We wish you all a happy and prosperous holiday season!
