Happy Fall, friends!  District 5 has been playing Beer Barrel Polka (a favorite for our audiences), October Morn, When the Leaves Turn Brown Again, Shine on Harvest Moon and are getting ready to pull out our Christmas tunes for December.  Cold Frosty Morning and Ice on the Road will have to wait for now.

By the time you read this Daylight Savings Time will have ended~guess there’s not enough Daylight to save right now.  Other November observances include- Nov 4~ National Chicken Lady Day (Celebrate with Chicken Reel, Chicken Under the Washtub and Cluck Old Hen); Nov 13~Hug a Musician Day (actually need Many more days like this!); and Nov 16 is National Clarinet Day~Shout Out to Katie and her woodwind skills!  May Thanksgiving find you going Over the River and through the Woods to celebrate with loved ones in Gratitude and with some good food and memories.  The Thanksgiving Waltz is a real pretty tune.

At our October business meeting, Kent McCabe consented to continue as Chair for District 5 and was unanimously accepted to continue.  Shout out and Big THANK YOU to Kent for accepting and all his hard work in setting up the sound system for our playouts.  We are Grateful.

We continue to meet for our business meeting the third Saturday of every month from 11-3 at Kitsap Square Dance Hall in Bremerton at 6800 W Belfair Valley Road.  We jam from 11-12 without music stands, break for finger foods and a business meeting and then continue jamming until 3 pm (with your music stand if you want).  Come join us!  Update your membership and if you know of any students in our district interested in Fiddle Camp, start encouraging them Now! We have scholarships for these kiddos for next summer!
