Summer is on it’s way!  What are your plans?  Going to Fiddle Camp?  Well be sending 5 youth to camp this summer.  While these cool spring days have been full of flowers, I’m ready for more sun and warmth.  District 5 met for our last business meeting in May until September but we have plenty of plans to get together in the true spirit of summer. There are campouts, playouts and festivals. We are jamming every Tuesday from 1-4.  1st and 3rd Tuesday in Silverdale Mall next to Dick’s Sporting Goods and 2nd and 4th (and any 5th)  Tuesdays in Belfair at the Barn.  The Barn is located at 600 NE Roessel Rd, Belfair at the Salmon Center, a nice place for a hike at the end of the Hood Canal.  Thanks and a Shout Out to JoAnn for widely advertising our jams as we have folks dropping by to listen and play.

Keep up with us on our Facebbook page https://www.facebook.com/WOTFA5/   Join us!

Summer isn’t a season, it’s a vibe.  Some quotes relating to the special feeling of Summer that I’ve found:

  • Poet William Curtis Williams–In Summer, the Song sings Itself
  • William Shakespeare–Shall I compare thee to a summer day?
  • Helen Keller–Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see shadows. It’s what the sunflowers do.
  • Audrey Hepburn–To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow

Good things are associated with Summer. Hope yours is a memorable one.

We are planning for our Campout Labor Day Weekend August 30-Sept 1st.  SAVE the DATE! To be followed by our return to monthly 3rd Saturday business meetings and jamming in September.  We have all risen to the challenge of a ‘music stand free’ hour between 11 and Noon.  Our next meeting, October 19th,  will be a workshop of Irish tunes.  Tania Opland and Mike Freeman have agreed to provide some fun for us.  Tania has joined a couple of our jams and we enjoy her skill and look forward to the workshop.  Check them out  https://opland-freeman.com/

See you at Fiddle Camp!  Keep playing!
