Hello Busy Fiddlers!

Thank you all for your wonderful participation this past month. Your music is so appreciated by everyone at our performances!

  • At Mira Vista, we had Forrest, Mici, Jim, Gary, Greg, and Steve.
  • The S/W Senior Center saw Ben, Jim, Mici, Rich, Greg, Steve, and Forrest.
  • At La Conner Retirement Inn, we were joined by Ben, Mici, Jim, Forrest, Rich, Dennis, Chrystal, Denise, Gary, and Greg.

A special shout-out to Judi and Nancy for always helping with setup and packing! Your support means so much to all of us. Our performances have been well-attended, and the joy in our music is obvious.

Sara Jane’s 90th Birthday Gathering in Burlington was a delightful event with fun conversations, delicious cakes, and plenty of birthday wishes. It was a blessed day, indeed!

Our strength lies in the variety of music we play and the musicians who rotate in and out, bringing fresh sounds and perspectives to each performance. September will bring some changes as folks leave and others return, keeping our audiences excited for more!

Big thanks to everyone who helps set up, fold up, and bring goodies for the group! At Mountain Glen, we had Dwight, Greg, Mici, Jim, Ben, Rich, Gary, Forrest, Vern, and Denise. Ben’s bass made a brief but memorable appearance, even though the room was a little too tight! We’re working to ensure Ben and his bass have a proper place next time.

At M/V Senior Center, despite the rainy evening, musicians dodged raindrops and brought the house down with tunes, both old and new. Many thanks to Ben for getting “Glory, Glory, Glory Somebody Touched Me” under our belts.

Labor Day blessings! Twenty-five residents at Country Meadows enjoyed a fantastic play-out with Dwight, Rich, Greg, Jim, Mici, Ben, Nancy, and Danny, who started and finished the set beautifully with “Red Wing” on his harmonica. Don’t forget to mark your calendars for September 21st—Danny’s 95th Birthday Potluck at 6414 N Fruitdale Rd in Sedro Woolley! Music starts at 11 a.m., and we’ll eat at 1 p.m.

We also welcomed Gayle Clarity from the Oregon Old Time Fiddlers at Creekside. Gayle’s been a longtime Fiddler and has an amazing ability to play by ear. We’re thrilled to have her join us and look forward to more fellowship as she settles into the area.

Lastly, a quick note: October is member renewal month and election time! We need to fill leadership positions like Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary. If you’re interested in helping out, now’s the time!
