I have been appointed as the new reporter for District 16. I am Dianne Gooch, and I will introduce myself and fiddler husband Garry. We joined WOTFA in the mid 1970s (45+ yrs ago) after attending a WOTFA show at the Marysville-Pilchuck High School. Garry was a beginning fiddler and all the musicians were great encouragers to us. We attended jams, workshops, camp-outs, shows and contests, plus many years at the Weiser contest. I began playing back up piano, then upright bass and currently guitar as a backup for Garry and musician friends. We have wonderful memories and pictures of musicians, many of whom have passed away.

D16 Jammers
The late night diehard jammers District 16-Sisco Heights Community Hall

We are thrilled that Snohomish County, currently District 16, has continued to thrive over the years. We have great leaders and much thanks goes to Noel Lareau (District16 Chair) and her husband Dave who faithfully keep our jam sessions going. We meet at Sisco Heights Community Hall every 2nd and 4th Friday nights. Doors open at 5:30 and jamming lasts until about 11:00 pm when we tire out. We do ask musicians to wear masks. Come out and join us!

We look forward to the return to public play outs when the Covid event passes.
Feel free to contact me if you have news items for future WOTFA Evergreen Fiddler newsletters.
