Summer has gone so fast and it’s almost time for our District 6 September 14th Meeting! Please put it down on your calendar. Doors open by 11:00 am, we’ll jam until 1:00, have a very short meeting followed by a finger food potluck and more jamming.
Last year we all really enjoyed having music instruction in conjunction with our meetings and jams, so we’ll be doing it again this year – featuring some of our outstanding fiddle teachers! We will have two groups going: in one room we will have our regular jam, and in the other room we will have an hour of instruction followed by an hour of an instrumental only jam, facilitated by the day’s instructor. On meeting days everyone will jam together until noon, when the lesson will start. On jam days the lesson will start at 1:00. Plan on taking this opportunity to get some instruction from some of the best teachers around for the price of just showing up!
Please also put the October 12 meeting on your calendar – it’s an important one because we’ll be electing our new District 6 Chair.
Our deepest sympathy to Bev Thomas, of District 6, who lost her husband Bill on Saturday, August 17th. Bill, who played bass, dobro, and piano went peacefully in his sleep at his home. Please keep Bev in your thoughts and prayers. There will not be a service.
