Welcome to June everyone. Here we go into the season of camp outs, festivals, and our very own fiddle camp. Whatever you choose, it’s sure to be fun. This newsletter will be for June and July and the next one will come out in August.
Our bonus jam on May 3rd was really enjoyable. We had a great group of people show up. We jammed until our fingers were sore, but there were smiles all around. We especially enjoyed playing and catching up with Jan Barber who came to the jam after a long absence. She brought some fun songs that we hadn’t heard for a while. It is so nice to get together to play with a variety of people who bring something unique to our gatherings. Each jam session is different. I always hate to miss any of them. All are welcome at any of our events. Please come when you can. Here are some pictures of this event.
Remember that we are winding down our events until our break for the summer. Our upcoming events are as follows:
- Sat. June 7th, bonus jam, 1 – 4 pm
- BREAK FOR THE SUMMER
- Sat, September 6th, meeting/jam, 11 am – 4 pm
- Sat, September 27th, jam, 1 -4 pm
- Sat, October 4th, meeting/jam 11 am – 4 pm
If you need more information about these events, just look on the WOTFA.org website.
We’ve added new playdates to the previous ones which we continue throughout the summer. Thanks to everyone who has faithfully played at these retirement homes for many years. Also, thanks for continuing to volunteer your time and talents to play. The music we play always makes the residents day.
One last item. Fiddle camp is just a couple of months away! Like last year, it will be held at the Chelan County Expo Center and it will run from Monday, July 28th to Friday, August 1st. This is a great time to spend with members of WOFTA from all over the state and learn how to better play your chosen instrument. Registration is currently open and all the information is on the WOTFA.org website. Check it out.
Keep up the music in your hearts and in your days with practice or jamming. Questions or comments, email me at timbuktoe@yahoo.com
