Wow, the summer is going fast! By the time you read this, fiddle camp will be completed and we will be anticipating the start of our jams. Our playdates are going well this summer and it is nice to continue those when we don’t have jams. The residents of the retirement homes sure appreciate us playing regularly to be able to enjoy music throughout the year. We all appreciate the folks who fill in for people on vacation. It’s great to work together to support the district!
District 6 sure had a nice jam on June 6th with lots of people showing up to play music together. Emma turned 7 and Shawna brought cake for all to share. Happy Birthday, Emma. It’s great to have the Smith family continuing with us for so many years. Emma doesn’t play music, but she enjoys listening while she colors. Her sister, Cici, is improving every year on the fiddle. She will have learned quite a few songs at fiddle camp this year again and we’re all looking forward to the first jam that she will share them with us. The Kimball family was at this jam in June and it’s always a treat to have them there. Michael Harris came and did fine after having shoulder surgery a couple of months before this jam. All in all it was a good group of people and it seemed like all had a good time. Pictures follow taken by Bernie and Shawna.
