To get to Sharon Care take I-5 to the Harrison Ave exit\, then head WEST past the Safeway until you get to Fords Prairie Ave\, then turn LEFT.  Sharon Care Center will be on your right\, go all the way to the back of the building where the main entrance is located.  We will be playing in the Skilled Dining Room which is just a short distance inside the entrance.   We will be using the September playlist for all playdates this month\, and there will be music and chords for all the music on the playlist for anyone who would like them.

DESCRIPTION:Please join us for our regular 1st Friday of the month Open Acoustic Jam & Meeting on Friday\, October 3rd\, 2925 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm at the Lewis County Historical Museum\, located at 599 NW Front Way in downtown Chehalis.  There is parking on both sides of the museum and we will be jamming just inside the main doors. \nThere will be coffee and tea and some snacks but it won’t be a potluck.  The museum doesn’t charge us to jam there but they do ask that if people could leave a few dollars in the museum donation jar they would be grateful. \nThis is a beginner friendly jam.  If you have questions please give me (Christie) a call or text at 360-791-5185.

SUMMARY:District 6 Christmas Party
DESCRIPTION:The District 6 Christmas party is held the first Saturday of December every year at the Mason’s hall in DesMoines\, Wa.  We get together to jam\, eat\, and enjoy each other’s company.  During the jam\, we play mostly Christmas songs\, but any song you pick will be accepted.  There are people of every musical ability and age.  Some people come just to sing or to listen to the music.  All are welcome.  The District provides a ham for the potluck and you are welcome to bring food to share\, although that is not required.  Doors open at 11 am and we eat as soon as most people have arrived. (usually around noon)  Otherwise\, we spend our time until 4 pm doing lots of jamming.

SUMMARY:February Open Acoustic Jam & Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Please join District 9 for our regular first Friday of the month open acoustic jam and meeting on Friday\, February 6th from 11:00 am-1:00 pm at the Lewis County Historical Museum\, located at 599 NW Front Way in downtown Chehalis.  There is parking on both sides of the museum\, but we will be jamming just inside the main entrance\, so if you park on the back side of the museum it’s a little bit of a walk to get to the front entrance.\nThere will be coffee and tea and some snacks but it won’t be a potluck. The museum doesn’t charge us to use the facility but they do ask that if people could put a few dollars in their donation jar at the entrance they would be grateful. \nOur jam is friendly and open to the public and you do not have to be a member to attend. DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 16th Oly Old Time Festival! \nFebruary 12-15\, 2026\nAbout the Festival\n\nThe Olympia Old Time Festival (Olympia\, WA) is an annual music event dedicated to teaching\, learning\, and participating in the tradition of old-time music. Artists from around the US and Canada come to play concerts\, jam\, call dances\, and teach workshops in this beloved event well-known in the national Old Time Music scene. The festival began in 2008 as a grassroots passion project and in 2016 became a program of Arbutus Folk School. \nWe open with a jam at a downtown restaurant/brewery on Thursday night\, run concurrent workshops during the day and concerts/dances at night on Friday and Saturday\, and end on Sunday afternoon. Events for this festival unfold at multiple locations: Arbutus Folk School downtown\, and the South Bay Grange. \nWe offer amazing concerts and performances\, entertaining and exciting old time traditional dances\, and hands-on workshops that cover a wide variety of musical instruments\, singing styles\, traditional crafts\, and dances. Old-Time music is highly participatory\, with most fans participating in dances to the music and usually are musicians themselves. \n​The opportunity to learn from\, jam with\, and dance to music from well-known national artists is a key feature of the festival. We’ll consult recordings of mandolin masters who demonstrate a variety of approaches to using the instrument in a traditional context. Along the way\, we’ll hammer home the three T’s – Tone\, Taste\, and Timing (although not necessarily in that order). DESCRIPTION:Wintergrass is an indoor\, four-day\, family-friendly bluegrass\, Americana\, roots\, world\, and acoustic music festival held in Bellevue\, WA at the end of February. DESCRIPTION:Please join us as we play our regular 4th Wednesday of the month playdate on Wednesday \, February 25th at 3:30 pm at Sharon Care Center\, located at 1509 Harrison Ave in Centralia.  To find Sharon Care\, take I-5 to the Harrison Ave Exit\, then head West (towards the Safeway)\, go just over a mile on Harrison\, then take a left on Fords Prairie Ave (just past the Dollar General store). You will see Sharon Care on your right\, the main entrance is in the very back of the building. SUMMARY:District 9 March Open Acoustic Jam
DESCRIPTION:Come on down and join District 9 for our regular 1st Friday of the month open acoustic jam and meeting on Friday\, March 6\, 2026 from 11:00am-1:00pm at the Lewis County Historical Museum\, located at 599 NW Front in downtown Chehalis. There is lots of parking on both sides of the museum\, and we will be jamming just inside the main entrance. \nThere will be coffee and tea and some snacks but it won’t be a potluck. The museum doesn’t charge us to use the facility\, but they do ask that if everyone could leave a few dollars in their donation jar at the front desk they would be grateful. \nOur jam is free and open to the public and you do not have to be a member to attend the jam.
