DESCRIPTION:WOTFA District 9 will be performing for the Pacific NW Chamber Orchestra’s Spring Concert Intermission on Monday\, March 17th (Yes that is St. Patrick’s Day) at 7:00pm at Centralia College’s Corbet Theater in Washington Hall\, located at Pear & Washington Streets.  The PNWCO concert is free and starts at 7:00pm and everyone is encouraged to attend.  There is a large green room backstage that will be attended continuously so you can leave your instruments and gear there while you listen to the concert.  The intermission is usually around 7:45 and we will be playing 4 or possibly 5 tunes while the intermission is underway.  Here is the tune list: \n\nLiberty-D     2. DESCRIPTION:Please join WOTFA District 9 for our regular 1st Friday open acoustic jam on Friday\, April 4\, 2025 from 11:00am-1:00pm at the Lewis County Historical Museum\, located at 599 NW Front Way in downtown Chehalis. There is parking at the main entrance and also by the kitchen area which is towards the back of the museum. We will be jamming just inside the main entrance. There will be coffee and tea and some snacks but it won’t be a potluck. \nThe museum doesn’t charge us to jam there but does request that if people could put a few dollars in the museums donation jar they would be grateful. DESCRIPTION:Old time fiddling and picking contest \n \n  \nBand Showcase\nFriday Night May 9th 2025\nsign up 5:00-6:30 Showcase at 7:00  Jamming after \n\nWe will be having a fun Band Showcase at the same location.  This will not be a competition but anopportunity for 3 or more acoustic musicians to showcase their ability to play together and entertain.  This will be an opportunity for the participants to earn tips.  A band is 3 or more acoustic musicians.  They will need to play 2 tunes and have a band name.\n\n\nWe began in 2012 to promote old time fiddling music in Stevens County WA.  Named the Fiddlers on the Peak contest for its original location near the 49 North Ski resort near Chewelah\, the contest has grown each year .  Players from the Spokane area and Eastern Washington\, Idaho and Montana participate in our contest\n\n \nWe are supported by the Washington Old Time Fiddlers Association and generously assisted by an increasing number of business and company sponsors\, and by volunteer members of the musician community.
