Hi folks! There is not much new this month.
What is new is that there is a playout on Wed. Sept. 8 at Ashley Point at 3 PM. It will be outside under a cover. The address is 11117 20th St. NE, Lake Stevens, WA 98258. We would love to see you there! You can call or email Gary Nordby if you need details.
Our 2nd and 4th Friday evenings jams continue; fully masked as of the last jam. As fun as ever! Applicable Covid-19 requirements are posted on the outside doors at each jam.
Business meetings will resume at the 4th Fri jam in September. It’s the price we have to pay for our jam fun. (OK, one of the prices; we still have to pay the rent.) But we keep it quick.
District Chair elections will be at the Nov. 26 jam and meeting. Yes, the day after Thanksgiving.
District 16 needs someone to take over our Facebook stuff and publicity. The fellow who was doing it moved out of state, alas.
As for publicity, this involves managing the newspaper information and little (virtual or printed) community information boards which let us list our jams for free.
As far as the Facebook stuff – I don’t even know the right word – moderating? updating? liaising with? dealing with? riding herd on? Oh, uh, managing. I don’t Facebook and don’t have a clue how to do it. PLEASE let me know if you are willing to take this on.
ALSO, the District 16 reporter (me!) would REALLY appreciate someone else taking over the reporting. It requires computer skills, 10 blurbs for the Evergreen Fiddler per year, and some communication with other D16 folks for information. You don’t need to be a professional writer: just tell it like it is (politely. And without mentioning anyone’s specific medical conditions without their permission)
That’s it, I’ve stretched this as far as it will go this time. Be safe and well and community-minded as we wend our ways through this time of Covid.
Thank you, Noel Lareau
